Nat­ural Bathing Area at Lake Felixsee

Felixsee is a man-made lake that was cre­ated in the con­text of min­ing activ­i­ties in the region. On hot days, it attracts vis­i­tors with its clear, blue water and sandy shore areas. There are var­i­ous lovely bathing spots on the east­ern shore of the lake. The bathing areas on the west­ern shore, below the bun­ga­low vil­lage, are per­ma­nently closed due to a risk of slip­ping related to the min­ing activ­i­ties in the past.

The east­ern shore can be reached on foot, via a wide for­est path. Free park­ing is avail­able near the 36 metres tall obser­va­tion tower. The beach vol­ley­ball facil­ity of WSG Buckow e. V. is located north of Felixsee. Tour­na­ments are held here on a reg­u­lar basis.
